Seven adults spotted today running close together and without face masks must all share a house or large apartment, a witness concluded.

The runners, breathing hard and talking loudly, were using a waterfront path popular with local runners and walkers, apparently unconcerned with their proximity to one another and their lack of protective masks.

“I can only assume they all live together,” said the witness, who requested anonymity. “Otherwise, their behavior would be really selfish and foolish, you know, given the coronavirus pandemic and everything.”

“That’s so cool, that they all live under one roof.”

To help slow the spread of the coronavirus, the CDC advises “keeping space between yourself and other people outside of your home,” staying at least six feet from others, and avoid gathering in groups.

The witness speculated that the runners, who all appeared to be in their twenties, might be old friends who decided it’d be fun to live in the same big house.

“Like maybe they were all college buddies and they wanted to replicate the dorm experience or something,” she said. “Oh—or maybe they all live in a huge loft, like one of those former warehouses converted to living spaces. That would be so much fun.”

She paused.

“I mean, that must be the case,” she said. “What other explanation could there be?”
