In a first, Runner’s World magazine will feature totally nude photos of half a dozen running industry leaders, Dumb Runner has learned, including ASICS CEO Motoi Oyama.

Oyama, who has been CEO of ASICS since 2011, appears on the cover of the magazine, a special “Body Issue” celebrating “the beautiful variety of shapes, sizes, and types of bodies” in the sport. Inside the magazine, the 72-year-old is featured in a five-page photo spread wearing nothing but a pair of GEL-KAYANO 30s.

In addition to Oyama’s photo feature, text on the cover of the issue also promises “5 other running biz leaders as you’ve never seen them.” It’s unclear who those others might be.

Reached for comment, an ASICS spokesperson told Dumb Runner that “Mr. Oyama’s photos will speak for themselves”; a representative from Hearst, publisher of Runner’s World, did not respond to repeated offers from Dumb Runner to pose nude for the magazine.

Runner’s World’s Body Issue is expected to be on newsstands early next month.
