A local man who already owns seven running jackets was seen yesterday viewing running jackets for sale online, Dumb Runner has learned.

James Edward Olliges, 38, a freelance designer and longtime runner, insisted that he was “just looking, you know, for fun.”

“I mean, it’s not like I need another jacket,” Olliges added. “Ha ha.”

Olliges’ current wardrobe includes running jackets from Brooks, Mizuno, Nike, and New Balance, according to a source. All are in good condition.

“But this one isn’t a running jacket, exactly,” said Olliges, speaking of the Patagonia Houdini jacket on his screen at the time. “More of a general outdoorsy jacket, like for hiking or just general everyday use, with a pair of jeans or something.”

He paused.

“This would look really good with a pair of jeans.”

Noting that the Patagonia jacket was on sale in Industrial Green, but that he really loved it in Hot Ember, Olliges scrolled down to read the product description.

“Oh, cool,” he muttered. “It packs down into its own chest pocket?”

At last report, Olliges was taking a credit card from his wallet.
