Strava, maker of the popular fitness app that connects athletes online and lets them track and share their workout data, said today it’s launching a product aimed at children under three years old—a colorful plastic “laptop” called Baby’s First Strava.

It is the company’s first physical product as well as its first foray into the children’s market.

“We are pleased to announce the ‘birth’ of Baby’s First Strava,” said Zachary Taylor, the company’s vice president of product development. “Now our grown-up users can introduce the thrill of tracking data and connecting with like-minded friends to their offspring.”

“It’s kudos for kiddos,” he added.

At first glance, Baby’s First Strava looks like any other electronic baby toy. A closer look, however, reveals buttons for such activities as playing with a ball, crawling, and scooting around in a walker. A large mouse lets users navigate a colorful dashboard where they can review their history of activity and comment on friends’ “workouts.”

“Don’t let the whimsical interface fool you,” said Taylor. “Baby’s First Strava is a robust, wifi-enabled tool that lets babies record, track, and share fitness data with other babies all over the world.”

“Plus, it’s drool-proof.”

Baby’s First Strava retails for $199 and requires two AA batteries (not included).
