Local Runner Frustrated to Be Stuck Again in Rush Hour Traffic

A local runner is stuck in a traffic jam downtown, Dumb Runner has learned, and fuming because the gridlock has slowed his pace to a crawl.
James Capaldi, 42, has been trapped in the traffic for at least 15 minutes, said sources who described him as “visibly agitated.”
“Honestly, it’s like a parking lot out there,” said the source, who requested anonymity. “And James is right in the middle of it.”
“But what did he expect?” they added. “I mean, who goes running downtown during rush hour?”
The source speculated that Capaldi might have fared better if he’d rerouted around downtown, possibly on the highway, but conceded that the highway can get congested as well.
“This time of day, it’s always a crap shoot,” they said.
This is not the first time Capaldi has found himself trapped in slow-moving traffic, said the source.
“Given where he lives, and his schedule, he often finds himself having to run in or through downtown if he wants to get his miles in,” they said. “It’s too bad, but what are you gonna do?”
Reached by phone for comment, Capaldi himself told Dumb Runner that he’s giving serious thought to buying a treadmill.
“I’m no fan of treadmills,” he said. “They suck.”
“But so does being stuck in traffic, you know?”
“Honk!” he shouted. “HONNNNNK!”
