Text Exchange With Running Buddy Almost Entirely About Pooping

A local man’s text message conversation with a fellow runner Sunday morning consisted almost entirely of references to bowel movements, Dumb Runner has learned.

The conversation occurred in advance of a run the two had planned. The men were identified as Nathan Frank, 40, and Jaune Moutarde, 50, friends and longtime runners who live about one mile from each other.

The references, which began when Frank asked to delay the start of their run, included liberal uses of the smiling poop emoji, poop-related GIFs, and uses of the word poop.

“Can we do 7:45?” he texted. “I still gotta [poop emoji].”

Moutarde responded with a GIF showing the Sesame Street character Elmo using a potty, followed by a poop emoji and question mark.

Frank immediately replied with a GIF of his own, showing the actor Rob Lowe ordering himself in a mirror to “stop pooping,” implying that Frank could not control the volume or frequency of his defecation.

The back-and-forth continued in this manner for the next several minutes, culminating in a final poop emoji from Frank—this time followed by a thumbs-up emoji. Moutarde expressed his approval via a GIF of cartoon poop doing a happy dance.

Frank and Moutarde had a good run, sources said, eventually.
