A self-described “running blogger” this morning published a running shoe review on his YouTube channel, Dumb Runner has learned, prompting two viewer comments about the shoe and dozens more about the room visible behind him.

The blogger, a 27-year-old runner named Andy Dufresne, recorded the video at a table in his sparsely furnished home, a one-bedroom apartment with bare walls, unflattering lighting, and an iron-framed futon pushed into a corner.

“Today I’m going to talk about the Adidas Mens Adizero Adios Pro 2,” Dufresne says in the video, before launching into a detailed examination of the shoe along with his thoughts on its performance after four weeks of wear-testing, all of which would go virtually unmentioned by viewers.

“Dude,” began a typical viewer comment. “Get some plants. Something.”

“A colorful framed print on that wall would go a long way,” read another.

“IKEA has some nice area rugs at pretty good prices,” wrote a third commenter. “Or Target, even.”

Other comments mentioned things like floor lamps, antique mirrors, and throw pillows.

Reached for comment, Dufresne said he had decided to record his next video outdoors.
