Local Runner Honors Memories of Fallen U.S. Military Personnel by Stocking Up on Energy Chews

A local man marked Memorial Day this morning by sitting on his sofa with his tablet and ordering three 18-packs of Gu Energy Chews, Dumb Runner has learned.
The energy chews were available at a special discount, as were many other products, via a running retailer promoting a Memorial Day sale. Memorial Day is an American federal holiday honoring members of the U.S. military who have given their lives for their country.
“Sweet,” said the man, a 26-year-old runner identified as Robert Plant, as he added the chews to his cart. “That’s a good price.”
According to multiple sources, Plant, who has never been in the military and doesn’t know anyone who has, also honored the memories of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice by purchasing running socks at 25% off and getting drunk at a barbecue.
