Disgraced running coach Alberto Salazar today gave a young trick-or-treater some advice along with a miniature Snickers bar, sources said, suggesting that she would be spookier if she lost a little weight.

Salazar, a former elite runner, was essentially banished from the sport for life in 2021 following investigations into doping violations and sexual and emotional misconduct, including “fat shaming” female athletes.

“Well, what do we have here?” Salazar said as he greeted a group of costumed children at his door. “Let’s see… Buzz Lightyear. Mario. A skeleton—very scary! And a witch.”

“Huh,” he said, addressing the girl. “Little advice? You’d be spookier if you dropped a few pounds.”

Each child then received a handful of candy from a large plastic bowl, except for the girl, who got just one small piece.

“Looks like you’ve had plenty to eat already,” Salazar said. “So, you know.”

The trick-or-treater, an unidentified girl dressed as a witch, took the candy, thanked Salazar, and did not respond to the remark about her weight, instead internalizing it deep inside her psyche, where it will fester for the next decade or more.

At last report, Salazar was loudly wondering whether another child was supposed to be “Dracula’s fat cousin, or what.”
