First 18 Models of Running Shoe Were Garbage, Implies Review of 19th Version

The 19th iteration of a popular running shoe includes several “needed updates,” according to an online review, strongly implying that each of the 18 previous ones was flawed.

The shoe in question “has been around for quite some time,” the review notes, meaning that the manufacturer has had many years to get it right. Amazingly, however, the product appears to remain a work in progress.

“This year’s [model] gets some needed updates,” the reviewer writes, including:

  • Reduced weight

  • More breathable upper

  • Grippier outsole

  • Wider toe box

  • Modified midsole construction “to give the shoe more pep”

It is unclear why the manufacturer didn’t include these changes in the 18th version of the shoe, which was released last year and also included “needed updates,” or in any of the 17 versions before that one.

The reviewer also described the latest version of the shoe as having “a good ride.”

Reached for commented, a spokeswoman for the manufacturer declined to comment, apart from saying that a “new and improved” 20th version of the shoe is in the pipeline.

“It will have several needed updates,” she said. “Stay tuned!”
