Local Woman Discovers ‘Massager’ Really Is Massager

A local woman who purchased a “massager” was disappointed this weekend to learn that the product is indeed a massager, Dumb Runner has learned.

Dolores Seinfeld, 37, made the discovery Sunday shortly after opening the box and testing the handheld tool, a Hyperice Hypervolt GO Massager.

“It was immediately apparent that this was not going to suit my needs,” said Seinfeld, who noted that the item was “way too powerful.”

“Like, it pummeled me,” she added.

Seinfeld said she ordered the device last week, after Googling “personal massager,” and was attracted by the Hypervolt GO’s product description, which mentions “whisper-quiet operation,” “interchangeable flat and bullet head attachments,” and its small size and portability.

A user review titled “Feels Amazing!” sealed the deal, she said.

Now, Seinfeld said, she’s feeling duped.

“I mean, yeah, the user manual says it’s intended for athletes and sore muscles and stuff,” she said. “But I read that and was, like, Yeah, right, OK.”

“Turns out, it really is for that sort of thing.”

Seinfeld said she’s unsure what to do now with the massager, which retails for $200.

“I don’t think I can return it,” she said. “Not after my test.”
