New Nike ZoomX Vapormask 4% Faster Than Other Face Masks

Nike today unveiled a new surgical mask that, it says, is at least 4% faster than typical models.
“We’re proud to announce our newest innovation, the ZoomX Vapormask,” said Stanley Ipkiss, Nike’s Vice President of Personal Protective Equipment. “This mask represents a quantum leap forward in protective facial barrier technology, and we are confident that it will change the way health care workers block viruses, bacteria, bodily fluids and more from entering their noses and mouths.”
Ipkiss did not divulge what makes the ZoomX Vapormask faster—materials, construction, or some combination—or even how the company measured a surgical mask’s speed. But he did hint that an even faster, pricier mask may be in the works.
“We look forward, in the coming months, to taking the technology in the ZoomX Vapormask to the next level,” he said, “refining and enhancing it for the benefit of the world’s elite health care providers and laypersons alike.”
The Nike Zoom Vapormask retails for $98.
