A local woman crossed an item off her “bucket list” this week, Dumb Runner has learned, when she developed a lasting love of running that will yield a lifetime of mental, physical, and emotional benefits.

Victoria Lord, a high school science teacher, said she’d been wanting for years to develop a lasting love of running that will yield a lifetime of mental, physical, and emotional benefits, but just never got around to it—until now.

“I turned 30 this year, and I figured, Hey, life is short, I’m going to go for it,” Lord said. “I didn’t want to wake up at age 40, 50, or 60 and realize that I still hadn’t developed a lasting love of running that will yield a lifetime of mental, physical, and emotional benefits.”

Lord admitted she was nervous at first, but ultimately told herself that the only way to develop a lasting love of running that will yield a lifetime of mental, physical, and emotional benefits was just to do it.

“We’ve only got one life to live, and I want to make the most of it,” she added. “I’m stoked to be able to cross ‘develop a lasting love of running that will yield a lifetime of mental, physical, and emotional benefits’ off my to-do list.”

Lord said she wasn’t sure what was next on her bucket list.

“I’m still mulling that over,” she said. “I’m thinking either swimming with dolphins or getting a tattoo.”
