A local man napping on his living room sofa must be dreaming he’s running, Dumb Runner has learned, judging by his sounds and movements.

The man, Erno Windt, 33, fell asleep just after lunch and within minutes was emitting soft whimpers and moving his arms and legs in sudden, twitchy motions. Windt is an avid runner, explained his wife, Luna Schlosser, 31, who witnessed the fitful episode and captured it on video.

“He’s dreaming he’s running,” she said in a whisper while recording. “This is adorable.”

Schlosser said her husband often exhibits this behavior, both while napping and at bedtime, shortly after falling asleep.

“He just zonks out, and then a little while later I’ll hear these noises, kind of like a soft cry, almost,” she said. “Sometimes he’ll pant a bit, too.”

Then, she said, the movement starts.

“He’ll jerk his arms and legs back and forth, almost like he’s scratching something,” she said. “It’s like a quick little twitching motion.”

“I just know he’s having a dream where he’s outside, running.”

Schlosser said her husband’s dream “runs” usually last just a few minutes before he falls into a quieter, deeper sleep.

“It’s always so cute when it happens,” she said of the dreams. “I’m glad I got it on video this time.”

At last report, Windt was still asleep and mumbling something about a timing mat.
