$500 Running Shoe Currently Sold Out, Because Sure, Ha Ha, Why Not, Nothing Makes Sense Anymore

Adidas’ newest “supershoe,” the $500 Adizero Adios Pro EVO 3, is sold out, Dumb Runner has learned, because fuck it, why not, everything is crazy now and nothing matters, why not spend FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS on a pair of running shoes?

The Adios Pro EVO 3, which, as mentioned, costs 500 fucking dollars, was the shoe worn last weekend in Sabastian Sawe’s barrier-breaking 1:59:30 run at the London Marathon, which presumably explains the surge in demand for the product, which, after all, is just a fucking running shoe.

Described on the Adidas website as “Engineered for those who chase records,” the Adios Pro EVO 3 is unquestionably more shoe than any non-elite runner could possibly need, but you know what, they could charge $2,500 for this shoe and they would still find buyers, so we should really be grateful that it only costs 500 bucks, plus, what is “money,” anyway, isn’t it so weird and arbitrary, and isn’t life itself so absurd and capricious and short, who care about this or about anything anymore, hahahaha?

Dumb Runner considered interviewing a few runners who have bought the Adios Pro EVO 3, choosing to spend $500 for the privilege, but in the end decided it would be too fucking depressing.

At last report, Dumb Runner was heading out for a run in his old, non-super running shoes in an attempt to retain his tenuous grip on sanity.
