A local runner wishes he had a helmet for running, Dumb Runner has learned, so he “could do that cool thing that cyclists do with their sunglasses.”

Pat MacDonald, 27, made his comment yesterday during a run with a friend.

“You know when (cyclists) aren’t wearing their sunglasses, so they poke, like, the sides of the glasses into the vents of their helmets?” MacDonald said. “So they’re sticking out of the front of the helmet?”

“That looks cool. I wish I could do that.”

MacDonald, who is not a cyclist and owns just one helmet, designed for rock climbing, currently places his own sunglasses on top of his head when not in use—a solution that, in his words, “is just not the same.”

At last report, MacDonald was spotted at a local bike shop, looking at road bikes.
