Local Dog Could Not Be Happier With How Today’s Run Went

A local dog is completely satisfied after finishing a run today with her human owners, Dumb Runner has learned—the latest in a string of nearly 100 perfect runs for her.
The dog, a three-year-old golden retriever named Gertrude, completed the 3.5-mile run around 8 a.m. after exuding joy “every step of the way, start to finish,” according to a source.
“It was abundantly clear afterward that she could not be happier with how the run went,” said the source. “Which, for Gertrude, is typical.”
In fact, the source said, Gertrude is equally happy every time she heads out for a run with her owners, regardless of distance, pace, route, terrain, and weather.
“Every single time,” the source said, “even a casual observer can see that she cannot believe her good fortune in being able to go for a run.”
“She is so excited,” the source added. “Nothing fazes her.”
Reached for comment later, Gertrude ran in a tight circle and licked Dumb Runner’s hand.
