A local runner told his coworkers yesterday afternoon that his best ever time in the marathon was 2 hours 56 minutes, Dumb Runner has learned—an announcement he made at 2:56 p.m.
“Hey, that’s my marathon PR!” said Hans Wilsdorf, looking at his watch. “Two fifty-six.”
Wilsdorf, 29, ran his PR, actually 2:56:20, at the 2022 Berlin Marathon, averaging 6 minutes 44 seconds per mile, facts that none of his coworkers asked about.
“Yep,” he added. “Two fifty-six.”
At 2:57, sources said, Wilsdorf sat at his desk and got back to work.
